Yeaaa twists, my favorite is vanilla.
Anyway, instead of this thread being full of one line posts with track name - artist name, here am a twist.
You post a link to the song somewhere online in your post, the next poster then listens to it, comments on it, then posts whatever theyre listening to and a link to it
This might be fun and Ive seen it work elsewhere
As Im the first post I should start
Jimmy Eat World - The Middle

A bit repetitive but overall pretty good. Listenable, as much as that's a fuzzy term to use.
I'm going to be a little different and post TWO things! One being the last track I listened to and another from something I've been obsessed with lately.

Eh...I didn't really care for that too much. It didn't have a whole lot of...continuity? It was a bit all over the place, but not in an interesting way. That and I didn't care for the instramentation...er...the samples >_>
Anyway, here's what itunes is playing right now:
Rise Against: Savior
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBIFDzvkC8U

Great anime, terrible song...
I wasn't listening to this, but I'm going to now, so I'll post it here (and yes, I can indeed sing this song with something resmebling non-ear-drum-bursting-goodness) and I'll go sing it since I know the lyrics ^_^

Journey Through the Decade - Gackt
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DLJ5DvFuRJc
--------
In advance, no Aitamen, I am not a Gackt fan. That requires me to hear more than one of his songs. It just so happens he just made the theme to one of the shows I'm watching.
-
It's cool. The solo's nice and the chorus is pretty catchy, but it doesn't really have anything that immediately resonates with me.
Maybe the lyrics would make up for it, I don't know.
Minus the Bear - Knights:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kols9wQQPzs

The video for that was just weird and I couldn't figure out what the song was about.
Eh, but I can't really say I dislike it. It's pretty hard for me to not like music.

Cellophane by The Sound of Animals Fighting
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPCGXZfpAW0
-
That song's nice for the genre, but it is definitely not my style in general, particularly when looking at their other songs.
Experimental prog generally makes me want to vomit. This one didn't, so a point for that!
Hrm. Now I have to get a song...

A very interesting song. Deep maybe, flowful, I like it.
Next up, back to a Bemani song!
Votum Stellarum -Forest # 25 Rmx- by Iconoclasm (DJ Taka and some other guy (wac, I think))
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3XP2dK_vrDI
There's also a mediafire link if you like it enough. And as for the video part, it uses Beatmania clips of the original song though this remix only appears in Pop'n Music and some later DDR versions.
I see a pattern here. Rider song, Bemani original, Rider song, Bemani original... <_<
EDIT: Drat, forgot to add the remix part!

Yesss Votum Stellarum is some nice shit. Kind of makes me wish I still played IIDX, but I stopped getting better at it, couldn't justify the time anymore, and the KOC pisses me off. I hadn't heard this rather excellent remix before. It's rather excellent.
I'm actually listening to Corn Mouth (or Carn Marth) by Aphex Twin as I type this, but I can't find a good version on Youtube, so here's Girl/Boy Song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MdZs5PVcwBs&feature=PlayList&p=AED0741C5BB17D58&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=19&fmt=18) from the same album instead.

Funny beginning and a nice song, though the whole video was a bit irritating to watch. Honestly, most of all I liked the very first song in this topic.
One of my favourite songs:
Joe Dassin - À toi
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-QpaFBD6nE)
Also I won't be Russian without posting a russian song:
Vladimir Visotskiy - Pesenka o sluhah (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T61Z3hrthiI)
Vladimir Visotskiy was our best singer. I love his songs very much.
-
I'm only responding to the first one.
And that song is great. End of story. Need to find it.

And it seems I break the pattern! The second Bemani original in a row!
The Strong Jaeger by L.E.D. (Technically I'm listening to a longer version of this song)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0bOYA1vqUpY
I suggest you watch the animation too. Dunno why it's duplicated in five screens but eh.
-
I really dislike that tinny electronic sound that some kinds of techno have, but I hvae to admit that song you linked is well-composed.
I've been listening to Julien-K almost non-stop lately. Here's the song I sang for my post your voice post... Lyrics NSFW in the first verse. It's called "Someday Soon" and it's awesome.

Not bad! I think I've heard that song a few times before, it's pretty good. I'm glad it's uncensored. The song and corresponding video line up a few times, which is pretty cute [the "dance floor" lyrics].
I've been hooked on an old M&M commercial from years ago. It's too catchy - I wish it was longer.

It's an inconvenience to download music.
The beat's dull. The song's just boring, really. And chances are I don't care for the lyrics either.

Now with that annoyance dealt with, my turn again! It's... yet another Bemani original!

Well technically a longer version of that.

OH geez, Quartz, you and Jaiku are going to be like BFFs >.> If I get recced one more tokusatsu song... That one's not bad. Kind of fun, in the vein of the Abaranger theme, but with a bit of epic, a la the Dekaranger theme. Well, I think the Deka theme is awesome, but I'm also a ranging PR:SPD fangirl.
I'm listening to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILObfEzX92k (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILObfEzX92k). It's "Brand New Day" from the web musical Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. Performed by Neil Patrick Harris. :3 The story is that Billy/Dr. Horrible is this wimpy supervillain who's enemy is this playground bully-esque superhero, and their conflict escalates over a girl who goes to the same laundromat as Billy. The song is from the end of the second act; it has three. Give it a listen! It's badass and it's about killing people. You can't beat that.
-
Brilliant song. Really. And the voice is very pleasant. I think it's an example of a song which you can listen to over and over again.
Anyway, I post a song for those who didn't watch BlueArremer's Casino Paradise 2 video, or for those who did, but cannot find the song.
Initial D - Stop Yourself Control (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p2x4Q4iAT-k)
-
That song gave me an aural seizure. It's just another 'catchy', uninspired pop song with a cocaine rhythm. 2/many numbers.
You should listen to this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ReshXo9AJ_Q) instead.
-
I should probably listen to the lyrics for each side, but it's so much more interesting to listen to with both at once. You were talking about this, and it's definitely an interesting concept, but that piano part feels so weird compared to the rest of the song.
My Dad vs. Yours - Habla Paisano
Although there's no youtube version of the song, it is downloadable/streamable for free on last.fm.

My Dad vs. Yours - Habla Paisano

That was pretty pleasant, though didn't really strike me as anything really special. However, it does kind of suit the weather I'm seeing outside right now, so good on ya.
I spent all yesterday evening listening to remixes of Dancing Mad, so here's one that people may not be familiar with (not a Youtube link either, sorry).
virt & ailsean - Dancing Mad Once Again
http://www.ailsean.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=31&Itemid=26 (click the "Click here to Download File" text).
It's pretty short and doesn't cover the final tier, but it has my very favourite rendition of the 3rd tier section, so make sure you listen that far.
-
Impressive...while a little over the top at times (also, what's with the vamping?), it's still an evocative composition. I headbanged.
Here's a single released by Jack White's new band, the Dead Weather (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=scJ8ITsZsl4).
-
Does Jack White realise there's more to the drum kit than the cymbals? >_>
I liked it, headbang material. The Queens of the Stone Age influence is pretty prominent, heh.
I'm going to cheat a little and link you to something I was listening to last night. This is AWESOME and EVERYONE SHOULD LISTEN.

Paris Remix (Ridge Racer 2-PSP) (originally from Ridge Racer V)
this is the 3rd or 4th official remix to this song

I like the bassline, it's neat and atmospheric. But the song drags on a whole lot, and doesn't really feel like it has any sense of dynamics. The original of the song is worse in that respect though, so I guess that's some consolation.
It also, oddly enough, reminds me of the song I'm going to link.
Actually, I listen to it again and don't know what I was thinking.
El Ten Eleven - Central Nervous Piston

Well, I have to repeat that it's neat and possibly atmospheric. Simple, but nice.
