Title: Ask the Next Person a Question
Post by: SB737 on January 02, 2013, 05:48:22 pm
Answer the question then leave a question for the next person.

What would you do if you had a million dollars?

We had a topic with more like this but with more substance a few years ago. Can't remember how it went though

SonicBoom737, I'd invest the money in a bank, live off the interest, and take some of the money out of the bank if I wanted to use more! I'd then have some of it go to my family and the rest go to charity (Oxfam and Cancer Research Institute) when I died.

Next question: If you could marry anybody on the planet, whether they're single or not, who would it be?
Title: Re: Ask the Next Person a Question
Post by: DarkAura on January 02, 2013, 10:11:48 pm
Danieldude, I'd probably marry Taylor Lautner because I don't watch any movies so I don't know many male actors because he is hot.

Question: If you died, what would be your preferred cause of death?

That Squaresoft cut the budget and rushed it to completion so the entire second disc consists of almost nothing but cutscenes.

What is your earliest memory?

Playing a video game 24 hours straight would be a bit much even for me. Maybe, but only if I get $40 worth of Samoas.

A "Screw, Kill, Marry" for the next one. Umbreon, Paraxade0, Thorn.

Which music genre holds the worst artists, in your opinion?
Title: Re: Ask the Next Person a Question
Post by: TimpZ on February 19, 2013, 06:02:12 am
Anything viral, so basically pop music. Otherwise I'd say rap or techno mainly because rap usually focus on the lyrics or techno because it has a lot of amateurs that produce repetitive songs. Hard question...

My question is:
How many 5-year olds could you win against in a fight?

Title: Re: Ask the Next Person a Question

1968, without question. I don't know how it was for those in other countries, but for America, 1968 was an awful year. Bobby Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr. assassinated. The Tet Offensive. Racial riots in several large cities. The Chicago Democratic Convention riots and police beatings. Nixon getting elected president. It was just an absolute disaster year.

Closest competitor would be 2001, mainly because of September 11.

Have you ever broken a controller?

^Does "Live in Texas" count?

If not, getting into school events (mathletes, and spending three months trying to get into robotics club (they didn't let me in because I was an atheist)) in an attempt to fit in was, in retrospect, a massive fucking waste of time.  That's about as close to ashamed as I really get...

Sorry son, but you're not mature enough to take that imperative step into manhood just yet. Also you ninja'd me with a fatuous question so that automatically renders you a troll. Anyhow, troll posts are oftentimes indubitably amusing, particularly to people with an asinine sense of humor akin to mine. :P

Next slapdash inquest... which Sonic CD soundtrack takes the cake in your opinion; the US one or the JP one? It would be nice if you could elucidate your reasoning but I'm not expecting an entire dissertation. :P

I think it's a close race. They both have great and mediocre tracks. Personally I'd have a mix of them both ;_;. But if I had to choose it'd be JP with Stardust Speedway being the deciding track that make me favour it.

First time I found out about TSC was on DsS's videos. Looked it up on google and had a look around the site. This might sound silly to some of you, but I started to get bored with getting A or S ranks in Sonic games and really wanted a challenge, to see how good I was. So I signed up straight away.

What is your best accomplishment in a Sonic game?
Title: Re: Ask the Next Person a Question
Post by: SqwareEcks on February 25, 2013, 07:34:28 pm
My SA2B single segment Dark Side run. Even though son1cgu1tar obsoleted it literally the day after I submitted it to SDA, it was something I had poured my heart, soul and free time into for nearly two years and I am damn proud of it, considering when I first decided to do it I had just played the game for the first time and I had never made a serious attempt to speedrun ANY game before. Even more than my former WR for Cosmic Wall M5, which was really just a case of me putting two and two together and realizing SM's route would probably be a significant timesaver in Hard Mode due to stage differences.

What is your favorite Sonic meme?
Title: Re: Ask the Next Person a Question
Post by: TimpZ on February 26, 2013, 09:19:43 am
I don't really like many of the Sonic meme's since they're mostly pretty stupid. I like most speedrunning related quotes from Sonic 06 though, the voice acting combined with the limited library of clips is hilariously bad. IT'S NO USE!

(hypothetical) What should be SEGA's focus for a new genre for Sonic? So far we've got platformer, puzzle, RPG, racing, fighting.... Perhaps a Sonic FPS, MMO, RTS or why not a point & click? And why ;)?

Purely because it messes up so many of my SS runs the Death Egg from sonic 2 (SMD), but in a casual run it's awesome,
For a boss that's never let me down for being really really annoying (I'm sure flyingfox would agree with me), its got to be the Sky High Act 3 boss from Sonic 2 SMS.

About 9:30pm ish on school nights, at the weekend it can be 12am to 2am sometimes later.

We've heard quite alot about it and seen the gameplay so what do you think of Sonic Lost World?
Title: Re: Ask the Next Person a Question
Post by: SpanielWare on July 11, 2013, 03:42:58 pm
I don't know a great deal about the game myself, but after watching some Wii U and 3DS gameplay footage with commentary a while ago during the E3 hype, I can confidently say that Sonic Lost World seems like an exciting and promising release. The gameplay itself looks both interesting and fun, borrowing elements from classic Sonic games, Sonic Colours, Super Mario Galaxy (which is no surprise due to Sega's current partnership with Nintendo), and the unreleased Sonic X-treme (a title that entered development for the Saturn in 1996, but was cancelled upon going into development hell). It seems less linear than that of some of the other recent 3D Sonic games, and I'm honestly really liking the general look of it. I'm also pleased with the fact that the gameplay is Sonic-exclusive; no need to play fuddy-duddy levels with secondary characters. In terms of plot, the concept of "The Deadly Six" as the main villains seems pretty cool, and a fresh break from Dr. Eggman as the chief antagonist. Aesthetically speaking, the game looks quite visually appealing, utilizing bright colours, vivid pallets and creative, impressive designs – in fact, one may make connections between graphic styles in this game and those in the games I mentioned above. The upbeat music sounds great, harmonizing well with the levels, but then again (in the least cliché manner possible), what less can one expect from a Sonic game. Overall the game seems decent to say the least, and it looks like Sonic Team is trying to instil assurance in their players that the franchise is still going strong.

Time for the next question: If you had the chance to go back in time for 24 hours, where and when would you go, and why?
Title: Re: Ask the Next Person a Question
Post by: SqwareEcks on July 11, 2013, 10:04:19 pm
I'd go back to last night, to my parents' house, when they got home from work, so I could hug them and tell them I love them. Even when I lived with them, I didn't do that enough.

Although I'd really rather go back to last Saturday and tell myself to start on two waterskis instead of one so I didn't get water up my nose and have to spend my every waking minute since fretting about whether this persistent headache means I got infected with the brain eating amoeba.

If this is what U need, do you proceed, or do you stop?

THIS IS WHAT, THIS IS WHAT, THIS IS, THIS IS WHAT, THIS IS WHAT, THIS IS, THIS IS WHAT, THIS IS WHAT, THIS IS, THIS IS WHAT YOU NEED WHAT YOU NEED!!

*ahem* Forgive me for that; I guarantee that I won't be answering any more of these questions for a while now, but that was just exceedingly tempting. :P

Probably during my Senior year in high school when I was apart of NJROTC officers programs. My friends had decided to steal some of the rifles stored in the supply building. Probably the door glitch in Sonic 06 with the Sky Jump.  THE best shortcut ever.

Next question:  Got any thoughts about the new Sonic cartoon called "Sonic Boom"?

EDIT: Yes, it is a new Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon.  Quote from Black Nerd:  "This time in CGI.  That makes it different."
