I hate this virus bros, not complaining about staying at home and playing more video games though!

I think it's a great idea and will help make future WR's more credible to those on the outside.  It's impossible to verify every submission but the top spots must take more scrutiny.  If you love the game, you'll make that extra step to help make the rankings and this site stronger.  It also helps motivate new members to reach new heights.

Ultimately, it starts with us so let's keep leading by example!

Proof was mentioned somewhere, that's a problem everywhere.

It's always a feather in your cap when you see banned players make their home elsewhere as they are degrading the value of other sites instead.  Validity outweighs activity.  We can always do more to showcase our talent but the noise of the crowd shouldn't dictate how everything should be gone about.  If we didn't enjoy submitting thousands of stats, there wouldn't be a TSC.

I probably had the most trouble with RR balloons, so many restarts...

Most strats are available on video so you don't have to exactly ask around unless it's to learn more complicated techniques.

The forum is also a bit gigantic and could probably get by with just 1 board containing important stickies.  You still need people competing to have discussions but at least everything would be viewable on 1 page.  That would certainly increase topic views and potentially replies.

While you can't force people to socialize, you can submit stats and I admire your zeal Kirbymon.  Things may appear quiet but a good lot of us care about this place and the body of work the charts represent.  After all, it's a labor of love on behalf of the admins and having the time to do the job right isn't easy.

Time trials is an extremely narrow focus and there are only a handful that even take the time to complete strong sheets.  Restarting thousands of times isn't everyone's cup of tea.  All considered, this place is more active than other sites for specific games.

You can save multiple files on Sonic Gems, not too terrible to set up but essential for fastest tag times.

1. Get all emeralds
2. 100%
3. 6 emeralds and only unlock Tails Doll
4. 6 emeralds and only unlock Metal Sonic
5. 6 emeralds and only unlock Egg Robo
6. 6 emeralds and only unlock Metal Knuckles

I usually just need to toggle between the first two for all of my stats.  Sonic, Tails, Amy, Knuckles, Robotnik, and Super Sonic tag times are all done on file 1.  Unlocked characters get their own tag files.  When I want to play RE with them, I just need to gather the last emerald on RI but don't save it afterwards.  This introduces super sonic to the mix who you don't want on the other tracks.  I found this to be easier than creating an additional set of files for just one stat, lol.

You only want slow computers on GP's for flaps so there is sufficient time to max your rings but that's normally not a problem.

When I look through the site, seems like character charts are common place but not Sonic R?

http://www.soniccenter.org/forum/index.php?topic=2434.msg25097#msg25097

Okay, so just because you have to race 40 sets of times for 10 characters it's arbitrarily too much?

At least on Sonic Gems, it actually saves and tracks all of your records so it's not like you have to scribble them down as you go along.  Pretty sure most people use that version anyway and you should be since balloon records are impossible on Saturn.

So before we shit on this again...

Hyper and I have full time sets but I don't see any way of doing this without everyone resubmitting since current charts are mixed.  That alone is probably enough to kill it since we won't see a slew of old players coming back to complete their profile.  With so much inactivity, would anyone care if these changes were made though?

Most times are probably super sonic to begin with so it's really just the few top times that need to be assigned accordingly.

So why bother?

There are several shortcut specific characters and ones where I haven't gotten OoB yet!  Each character differs on speed/turning/sliding which makes these records unique.  It wasn't until I tried time trialing with other characters that I discovered other breakout points and faster non-sc strats.

Since TSC specializes in the completion of Sonic games at an exceptionally high standard, it only makes sense to track these stats as well in terms of being official but I'm content sticking to cyberscore if this is just not meant to be.

I want to see all the records in one place of course and TSC is the best!

For no reason here's my Sonic R speedruns!

TSC Race Night / Re: Race Night 35: Sonic R
« on: July 18, 2013, 08:10:21 pm »
I never participated in race night but this piques my interest!  Can't stream but can at least record the entire run live and upload afterwards.  Was always curious about these events and it looks like fun.

Doesn't seem like option 1 is getting much love so my vote goes to 4) Any% no OoB.

I'd rather not relearn best routes for rings+tokens.  Let it boil down to pure speed but not too much otherwise you fall OoB!

Proof is good and all but people are still allowed to use emulators and such? ;p

Lot of honor system goes into that but it's nothing more proof couldn't rectify I guess.  I also realize some stats are rather difficult to compete for otherwise.  If people are willing to put in the countless hours for records have a damn camera running once in awhile.

I guess my best speedrun was the most painful one to pull off.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7p44MKP020

I gave up trying to beat my time with Amy again on RE gp-3lap so tried to find a new spot to fall OoB with Super Sonic.  Sure enough, I found a couple places right at the beginning but I had to get it twice in one run to keep up with Amy.  Countless retries later, I finally got it and just managed to beat my time.  Would love to go 3/3 so I'll save that for another bored out of my mind weekend.

Just submitted a couple live videos.

RC - The break OoB with Amy works the same way in GP, TA, and RV.  You just wiggle in the corner of the starting gate and track and hit the boost.  Eventually you break through but it doesn't always happen right away or on the first try.  You can see how this works in my 20"60 with Amy.

RF - The break OoB with Amy & Super Sonic works the same way in GP, TA, and RV.  You just wiggle in the corner of that area and eventually you just walk right through.  You can see how this works in my 24"63 with Amy.  What you can't see in my replay of my 19"60 with Super Sonic is that I just walk through the wall leading up to the normal break OoB spot.  This is the wall I am boosting against with Amy in my 24"63.  It doesn't happen very often which is one of the frustrating parts of this game.

RR - The break OoB with Super Sonic works the same way in GP, TA, and RV.  Just a matter of timing the double jump and angle in which you approach the track.  My live 26"53 better demonstrates how this works as opposed to my 25"83 replay.

RI works just like RF, wiggle between the rock and fence near the start and eventually you walk through.

RE GP & TA 3laps work just like RC.  You wiggle in front of the gate to the right and hit the boost to break out.  Only downside is that you have to break OoB 3 times (once per lap) so to do it quickly means insane luck.  The RV 3lap and flaps here are special cases and those are probably better seen than read.

I've discovered a ton of new ways to break OoB with other characters which is why I beat my RR flaps tonight.

So yea, more videos on the way! xp

I've been busy filling out the new charts on cyberscore.
http://www.cyberscore.me.uk/games/1025

With 10 characters, 5 tracks, and 8 records each that makes out to 400 individual times.

About a quarter of the way there now. x_x
