I could have gotten more on GC, but I killed too many aliens.  The mission ended on the Black Volt ride.

I know it's not fixed.  It takes a while for some pages, and some load quicker than others, especially when submitting stats.

Well, that was the debate a while back.  I just tried to go for the max, and I was 4 short.

EDIT: Just achieved 449 rings on Circus Park.

Regarding the Shadow ring divisions:

1. Westopolis
2. Digital Circuit
3. Glyphic Canyon
4. Lethal Highway
5. Crytpic Castle
6. Prison Island
7. Circus Park (This one has a max of 449, since getting 400 rings ends the level)
8. Central City (might be difficult, since there's a 7-minute time limit)
9. The Doom
10. Sky Troops
11. Mad Matrix
12. Death Ruins
13. The ARK
14. Air Fleet
15. Iron Jungle
16. Space Gadget
17. Lost Impact
18. GUN Fortress
19. Black Comet
20. Lava Shelter
21. Cosmic Fall (might not be nearly as difficult as Central City, due to more time to gather rings)
22. Final Haunt
23. The Last Way (also pretty hard, due to time limit)

The only level I don't think should be added is Circus Park.
So I sorta agree with magnum.

Scratch the idea.  I tried without a memory card, and it turns out in the event you die after you collect a crab, the time on the game clock is reset to the time on it when you last collected a crab.

I recently got this idea, but didn't go through with it yet.  Is getting all but 1 of the required crabs, then losing a life and, assuming you haven't touched a checkpoint, turn around at the start and warp to the end of the level and get that crab?  This would cut the level time down a lot.  I want to know, because I didn't want to be accused of cheating for submitting a 15-second time for the level, plus nothing in the rules forbids it.

At first, you will mess up quite a lot.  Trust me.  It took me quite a while to master this in Shadow.  With practice, you'll be able to pull it off with no problem.

I can agree with the Sonic the Fighters idea, since I have Gems.  I can't say anything about Shuffle, since I don't have the game.
1 other thing.  How would the time be decided?  Would it be the default number of rounds (submissions would be the time displayed after the level) or a single round (submissions would be the default time minus time left on the clock)?

I was reading over the rules and I don't understand the Time Attack rules.
In Balloon Park, you must hit at least one balloon on each lap. (Freestyle)
Could someone explain how you can complete a lap without hitting a balloon?
In Desert Palace, you may not pass over or under the lap marker while moving or facing left.(Freestyle)
Could someone rephrase this?
And exactly why is Endless Mine listed under Freestyle, yet the rules say nothing about this level?

According to Rolken's Bonuses guide, the maximum theoretical point total is 134990 - of course, that'll never be attained, since getting 999 rings is probably impossible and definitely impossible while maxing Time Bonus. Perhaps 125000 is achievable though...!
