RPG has held no less than EIGHT SEPARATE CHAMPIONSHIPS, and a high of four of those at once.

Just for the record, its 10. :P

And I only held four at once for the first time yesterday night, until then it was only three, and you need to fix my Drift 2 Total >_>

I wrote that the night before I posted it. At that time, he didn't have Drift 2. So hah. =P

On another note, anyone who's guessed is wrong.

EDIT: Oh, and another thing:

Also, somebody ask me why I gave RPG my strat.

1st: Pretty much any and all of "Taco's" Advance 1 times.

NintenDan’s TSC Career

When "Taco" as he has been known ever since the birth of the chat room, IIRC, joined TSC on the 12th December he was, like myself, just another member filling up the ranks, and as mike said about me, has been a complete menace in various games: namely the Advance's, and, to a lesser extent Sonic Adventure DX.

Perhaps it would be a good place to start on SA2:B, as its possibly the most 'worthy' of games to be good at, and by far one of the most difficult to do well in. Taco was up in the Top 10 for quite a while, but now has slipped back quite a few places, I recall him as high as 7th at one point. His times aren't bad, but they COULD use significant improvement if Taco played anything Sonic-based that wasn't on a GBA (If your reading this Taco that was in no way a hint >_>).

Moving on, we come to the subject of Advance 1. Taco's been CHampion of this game since forever. If you consider forever to be The 1st March 2004, and it is somewhat of forever in TSC Time :o He's held the championship ever since, excluding one day: The day TSC came back up, as mike submitted all his new times before Taco, a fair few of which that beat Taco's VERY old times and knocked him off the top spot, so that hardly counts. Taco's also had the ABSOLUTE PWN to hold 100% on the game for various periods of time during the course of his TWENTY MONTH CHAMPIONSHIP, TSC's longest as far as I know. Infact, the only reason he doesn't have 100% now is because of the Moon Zone, and all the chat regular's know mike's opinion on that one :P Bizzarely, until mike's complete overhaul of his Advance 1 times, Taco was somewhat unchallenged and he immensely outclassed all competition, its an absolute wonder he was able to keep on playing to best himself: His ultimate goal as he said on numerous occasions, was a sub 60 minutes Total, and blood Hell if he could find another 4 seconds in Total across the various levels he'd have sub 58 minutes. And as far as I know, he's beating the Hell out of the Japanese Players to boot, or he was at one stage, no idea if he still is, now if that doesn't shout out "I am the God of Sonic Advance 1" then I really dont know what does.

Taco has been just as strong throughout Advance 2, initially taking the Championship after posting good (back then :P) times for all the levels and mediocre (Sorry Taco, but they really were D:) time for the Bosses, which netted him first place on the 3rd of August '04. This didn't last long, I eventually filled out my times for EU1, and alreadyhad filled out Boss some time ago, and this added my Total times and pushed me some 200 points ahead of Taco on the 8th of September of the same year. This sparked off another of TSC's long-going Rivalry's, and is still going on, (although I have an announcement to make at the end of this post.) Not amused by this, and being Taco, he began TAing the Bosses and slowly knocking down the points, until he retook the Championship on thw 10th of October. He sat there comfortably for a little over a month, till I fought back again, and stole it back from him on the 23rd November. My reign of terror then lasted a good 7 months, counting the 3 months downtime, until Taco pwned all and retook the Championship on the 13th July of this year, which lasted some 4 days till I took it back. The Championship switched hands for the final time (As of this point in time) on the 5th of August, whereby taco steadily decreased his Point Total to sub 100, and by far and wide, it still should be (See announcement). He's remained at the top of this game mostly unchallnged, rather like in Advance 1, save for my futile efforts, which have ultimatly phailed/10 in any case, further proving Taco's Goddom, which now surely stretches over the whole Advance Series. And if THAT doesn't make him "The Advance God" then this next section surely will.

Taco also reigned supreme at Advance 3 for a while too, pwning most of the records set at that time and ultimatly being #1 across all the Advance's at once, I believe. Although, obviously, he's no longer Top Dog in Advance 3, its mostly because he, like many others, dont give two cents about it (sorry mike :P) and he's been concentrating on various other games more worthy of his time, however, he WAS the first person (IIRC) to get an absolutely AMAZING time in Chaos Angel 3, watch the video to see exactly HOW amazing.

In later times, Taco has been setting some sensational records as Sonic throughout SADX, and not to mention some pwnerific times as Tails, although, sadly, (<_<) the Knux Level Total which he had held for so long was beaten by none other than myself (>_> Sorry taco D: *run*). I also seem to recall a time when Taco was Champion of Sonic 1 (GG), I apologise for my uncertainty on this one, but I have 40 minutes to type this or it will be released on #4's day, I am VERY behind schedule D:

Couple this, with his above average rankings in all of the other games he competes in, with the exception of Sonic & Knuckles, but who can really criticise him there? He has two times submitted. One is 3rd and the other is a record by a LOOOOONG way, and the sheer amount of contribution's hes made to the site: An insane amount of video's, a far few strats, and add to that his constant livening up of the chat whenever things die down in there, and his notion of "The TSC Convention", we have one ice cool, sharp as nails Time Attacker, just nestling in the Top 5 Greatest Players in TSC's History!

(Dont worry Taco, I'll have something to say about that next time we do this :O)

ANNOUNCEMENT: Bit of a random thing, but I feel I must get this off my chest as it is highly depressing: If douglas is indeed getting thos times legitimatly and not pulling them out of his ass, if he takes 2nd Place Overall in Advance 2, I will be retiring from competing in Advance 2 (Yes, for real this time.). I worked so hard for those times, I'm barely content to have 2nd, and I'm practically at my limit, so if I were to drop a place lower I dont think I'd have the motives or the drive to go earn it back.

I'll be doing #4 tomorrow and #3 the day after, then handing it back to mike for the final two.

Yeah, RPG got lazy and I stole #4 from him. Here goes nothing:

TSC’S ALL TIME GREATEST PLAYER #4:

Rusty “SadisticMystic” Jones:
“Hey, maybe his post count really does match his IQ!”

(If you don't recognise this reference, you deserve to be shot. Click here to avoid a shooting.)

There is just no adequate way to describe SM. RPG chose to put it in one word: “God.” (That’s why he’s not writing this anymore. =P) I’ll try and find a few more words for this most enigmatic of players.

SM’s been around since the very beginning. In fact, he started the predecessor to TSC, the SA Elite, which inspired Rolken to create one site where we could all gather and compete, and this is why you care today. He’s also done a bit of admin work for the site while Rolken was sick/inactive (which is almost all the time these days).

Onto gaming achievements, even well before the time of TSC, SM was well known as one of the greats to have ever picked up the DC controller. The amount he knew, even back then, about the Sonic Adventure games is just mind-blowing. He used to come up with all sorts of unusual challenges for the soon-to-be TSC regulars to undertake. And yet, he found the time to uncover some of the oddest glitches in the game, and manipulate them for time purposes.

The two major examples are the famous Eternal Engine 2’39”42, and the even more famous Cannon’s Core 0’06”90. Both involved many things the average player wouldn’t even bother looking for, let alone exploring in the depth that SM did.

Above all that, SM just plain owned at the hunting levels of SA2B. I bet you could name any one of the hunting levels and SM would give you all 60 emerald shard locations, as well as the first clue the hint computers give you with regards to its location. However, as he put much less effort into the Sonic/Shadow levels, he was never #1 at the game. Many players rank him as the best merely due to his incredible wealth of knowledge on the game. That wasn’t in our considerations, however.

It’s worth noting that SM was also a top-level gamer in other games, too. The video section is packed with SM’s shows of brilliance in Sonic 1/2/3/K. He probably held all four championships at once back in the early days, but don’t quote me on that – he may not have held Sonic 1. I do know, however, that SM did hold five championships at the same time: Sonic 2/3/K, Sonic Advance 2, Sonic CD. That’s one incredible achievement. Even for someone who knows too much.

To date, SM doesn’t hold a championship at TSC, but he’s still one of the best here. RPG and I agree there’re only three better.

Time Attack Career:

Current Rankings:

Sonic Adventure (DX)
762 points
10th of 66

Sonic Adventure 2 (B)
1312 points
8th of 93

Sonic Advance
866 points
30th of 40

Sonic Advance 2
1622 points
14th of 72

Sonic 1
146 points
7th of 75

Sonic 2
202 points
2nd of 72

Sonic 3
317 points
5th of 57

Sonic and Knuckles
75 points
2nd of 36

Sonic CD
92 points
3rd of 22

Sonic 3D Blast
378 points
11th of 18

Knuckles Chaotix
21 points
2nd of 9

Sonic R
355 points
24th of 24

Best five times (as adjudged by myself):

5th: Mad Space 1 (SA2B) – 9”75 – Absolute perseverance. I can’t put it any other way. And this on a level the average gamer hates to bits. Oh, the irony.
4th: Carnival Night 2 (S3) – Sonic – 2:27 – Another example of perseverance – this one apparently took three hours of consecutive play and hours beforehand of meticulous planning. I don’t know how he does it.
3rd: Eternal Engine 1 (SA2B) – 2’39”42 – Possibly the most impressive video on this site. You haven’t seen the true extent of SM’s ability until you’ve seen this.
2nd: Route 280 2 (SA2B) – Freestyle – 0”00 – That is not a typo! Exactly zero time for this! Manipulating save files to the max. Or perhaps not the max, because of…
1st: Cannon’s Core 1 (SA2B) – Freestyle – 6”90 – SM’s best time simply because of all the glitches and work behind it. Manipulating two completely different levels and the Chao save file is just incredible.

I indeed never held S1--ybbun was already a member by the time I put up anything serious there.

I did briefly hold SA2 by being the first to submit to the newly created kart and boss charts (back when they still counted), but that falls under the same class as NintenDan's losing Advance 1--"doesn't really count".

I put up the charts for Chaotix, so I obviously held all those records from the start.  It's an obscure game that no one ever played, so I remained on top, mostly with a sweep, for a very long time.  Then three months ago mike89 got bored and wanted something to play, so I suggested Chaotix.  So he played that game, I lost my last championship, and I didn't care.

(I apologise for the sheer immense poor quality in this Bio, I started writing this an hour into the day AFTER this Bio was meant to be out, that’s how pressed for time I’ve been lately, Sorry.)

mike89’s TSC Career

Mike signed up to TSC on the 26th of October, 3 days into TSC’s lifespan, and as member #11. Mike’s been here since the dawn on time. Literally, this time round :P

Mike’s competed in anything and everything, and excelled everywhere he’s put effort in, be it 2D or 3D. While SM is TSC’s God of Knowledge, mike is almost certainly TSC’s God of All Round Pwnage.

Before launching into mike’s career, of an unprecedented site record of 7 championships held at once: The only person to surpass SM’s 5, I shall take a brief look at the other things mike’s done for TSC:

He’s recruited several members, including his brother, the infamous “zac-a-maniac” but we wont go any further on that subject, and recently went on a recruiting drive across other sites, although I have no idea if he recruited anyone/how many people he recruited. Among other things, he’s posted a fair few strats, as well as shared them in the IRC chat room, not to mention a FREAKING HUGE AMOUNT OF VIDS. However, they aren’t all perfect quality (I highly recommend you _don’t_ watch Aquatic Ruin1-Knuckles if you value your eyes…(Sorry mike :P)), yet they are extremely helpful in terms of getting some damn pwnage times for yourself.

And now, finally onto mike’s actual career at TSC. He actually holds 6 Championships at present, as I stole his 7th the day my Bio was released (:D), however, he’s held championships in no less than 12 (?) games across the site. That’s just over HALF the damn site he’s pwned. Not at once mind but it’s the sheer scale that counts.

Mike has proven himself to be somewhat better in the 2D Field than the 3D. All of the championships he holds at Present, and in fact all of them bar one (SA:DX) have been in 2D games, making mike the 2nd best 2Der on the site. Yes, 2nd. See the next bio for more on that.
Mike’s effectively dominated the entire MD series, holding S2/3/K and sitting a comfortable 5th in Sonic 1, possibly the peak of perfection of Sonic Time Attacking. If only he had Top 2/3 for Sonic 3D too he would almost certainly be the ultimate “oldskool” Sonic TAer on the site. Mike has utterly dominated Sonic 2 and S&K, having immensely low Point Total’s in both, despite the amount of divisions and players competing, particularly in the former, where he has no times below 2nd as Knuckles and no times below 3rd as Sonic (Once HCC’s times are gone, that is). In fact, he would have an arbitrarily low Point Total in Sonic 3 as well, if Sprint had not pwned the first 5 levels so utterly, although, mike would not have the Championship if Sprint hadn’t got bored with the game. Furthermore to this, mike’s held ALL (IIRC) of the GG games, although he’s lost all those championships now bar Chaos, STT to sonicam and S1&2GG to Sprint, after he foolishly doubted Sprint’s 1337ness (Your own fault mikey :P). Don’t hold me to this, but I also seem to recall a time where he held Sonic Pocket Adventure, as well as holding Drift 2 as well as Drift 1 for a short while before I turned my attention to it.

And mike STILL doesn’t cease to amaze, almost rivaling Taco in Adv1 terms, a mere 60 something points behind, and not far behind Total Time wise either. Add to this his domination of Adv3, and that makes one HELL of a 2Der. But how does mike match up in 3D terms? In fact, almost as well.

Mike currently sits 5th in SA2:B, the Crown Jewel of TSC, yet he hasn’t ALWAYS been that pwn at it, in fact it was only during the downtime when he and I hoarded times that bumped our Totals down to their present levels, with mike smashing the 180 minute barrier, once believed to be the ultimate challenge that only the ‘truly 1337’ could accomplish. Yet with people now holding 155 minute Totals, perhaps reconsideration is required there.

Yet SA2:B is not mike’s finest 3D hour, neither is Heroes in fact, despite he sits a comfortable 8th, even though it’s a terrible game. Sonic R, where he sits 3rd is also not his finest 3D hour. It is in fact SA:DX, where he fought a grueling battle with sonicam for the Championship. The Championship changed hands several times, but in the end sonicam emerged victorious and mike settled for 2nd, later being reduced back to 3rd after I stole the Championship.

With all this said and done, it should be clear for all to see why mike is ranked this highly, his superior all round skill is second to none…well, two. With his many helpful additions to the site and his “never give up” attitude, there was really no question in where mike could possibly be ranked. Although there may perhaps be some controversy over the final two spots, it was a damn difficult decision but in the end we concluded the following:

2nd place is *shot*.

Just kidding, 2nd will be out today as this is late, and TSC’S ALL TIME GREATEST PLAYER is out tomorrow, both by mike, over to you dude~

14 championships, not 12. I also chucked my 8 second HP Knux into my top five... just cause I like it that much.

#2 is coming when the day switches over for the Americans (read: one hour). Not Rolken though, cause he's not here till after midnight anyway, if at all.

I know. That's practically all of you, bar Rolken. =P

And here's #2!

TSC’S ALL TIME GREATEST PLAYER #2:

Gavin “SprintGod” Ward:
“The Perfectionist.”

Sprint is a player very much unlike any other here at TSC. I know my philosophy to time attacking is something like “Post a full bracket of times, then work on the worst ones until you achieve #1.” Sprint goes the completely opposite way, in effect: “Play one level, and play it and play it until it’s perfect. Repeat for all levels in the game, then go back and beat them all for good measure.”

Sprint joined on the 17th of March 2004, so while he hasn’t been around here for as long as the founding members, he’s still been with us for a while. His first act was to post his Sonic CD times, which he’d been working on for a long time. Let’s put the magnitude of this into perspective.

Before Sprint joined, SM owned the Sonic CD charts with all but one record.

When he posted his times, Sprint became the new champion, leaving SM with just 3 of his 27 records. And all this without collaboration (from us, at least). That alone would’ve put Sprint in the top ten. But no, that wasn’t enough, no way.

The next game Sprint would turn his sights on was Sonic 3. He then proceeded to obliterate every single one of my times up to Marble Garden 1 (though the progress was very slow, and now nonexistent). Probably lucky he never finished his bracket here, as I would’ve lost my championship in a snap.

Probably his greatest achievement in Sonic 3, however, isn’t listed at TSC. He submitted this to Bisqwit’s site back in May, a GMV of Sonic 3 and Knuckles being completed as Sonic in a mere 45 minutes (closer to 36 minutes if you just count level times). The recording contained a massive 160000 re-records! Another example of Sprint’s immense patience.

Back in July, I challenged Sprint to beat my Sonic 1 and 2 times for Game Gear, as I held both championships at 1 point and 0 points respectively and felt reasonably confident of my times holding up. How wrong I was. With the aid of a few physics quirks, Sprint didn’t just tie, but BEAT almost every single one of them, smashing my old totals into the ground. And all in three days!

Notable of Sprint’s dominance is that he records just about every single time he sets. This obviously requires an even greater commitment in time, internet usage and whatever else. It also sends a message to any who would challenge him, saying that “I’ve got so much confidence that this time will stand, that I’ll even show you how to do it and I still think you’ll be unable to beat me!”

Typical of Sprint’s attitude to time attacking is the fact that EVERY SINGLE RECORD he has submitted to The Sonic Center is a first place time. (Actually, that’s not entirely true, but does anyone else believe a time of 42 seconds on Angel Island 1 Knuckles?) Why doesn’t he then get first by default, I hear you ask? Well, there’s a bit of history behind our #1 selection, you’ll see tomorrow, though the identity of our choice is probably blindingly obvious by now. In the meantime, congratulations to Sprint on making the #2 spot his own.

Best five times (as adjudged by myself):

Needless to say, these are damn hard to pick for Sprint. A lot of that has to do with the fact that I’ve never played Sonic CD, but I’ll give it a shot anyway.

5th: Green Hill Green (SD) – 54”20 – Devised a new strategy for time attacking this game that basically enables you to drive wherever you want at above “maximum” speed. The only problem then becomes dodging trees, which is surprisingly hard.
4th: Sky Base 2 (S1GG) – 0:12 – Using a method us lesser players never would have dreamed of, utterly destroyed the standing record of 23 seconds.
3rd: Angel Island 1 (S3) – Sonic – 0:46 – As a testament to just how good this time is, the emulated record is 43 seconds, and that’s with perfect stopping and spindashing. And there’s a lot of instances of that.
2nd: Any time for Sonic 1 or 2 GG – Just ‘cause.
1st: Any time for Sonic CD – Too much ownage for just one time.

And now. The moment you've all been waiting for. Coinciding with TSC's 2nd birthday is the announcement of our greatest player to date...!

TSC’S ALL TIME GREATEST PLAYER:

Shaun “Cybrax” Khoeis:
“Simply the best.”

This might seem like a bit of a controversial call to you lot. In fact, when RPG and I compared initial lists, I had Cybrax at #1, but RPG had him at #3 (with myself and Sprint at #2 and #1 respectively). Somehow I convinced him that my order was right (and I wish I could remember what I said on the matter!) and here we are. Here’s why I picked Cybrax as our greatest of all time.

Cybrax joined on the 24th of October as user #3 (and is one of the founding members, like many on our list). And ever since those early days, Cybrax was the benchmark. The standard for all players to aspire to, if you like. While his involvement with TSC dropped away to the point where he hadn’t been seen for months until just recently (later found to be yet another case of Warcraft-itis), perhaps without people realising he’s done more for time attacking than anybody else. I’d go so far as to say that without Cybrax we may not even have a site today.

Among Cybrax’ notable achievements outside actual time attacking are the immense amount of glitches he discovered on the 3D games, which has kept time attack going for two years where it could easily have become stagnant. After all, Sonic time attacking is just finding the route and executing, right? WRONG! It’s finding the glitches, then finding the route and executing, and Cybrax not only found the glitches but let other people know what they were and how to execute them, through either guides or videos. Unlike some people, he would always share what he knew.

Onto actual gaming achievements now, and Cybrax was, for the first year or so at least, considered TSC’s best gamer by far. Cybrax was one of the first to pick up Sonic Heroes, and like everyone else was horribly disappointed but still managed to set the benchmarks for that game to which the likes of Kev and magnum12 would follow. He still holds a record on the game, in fact, despite not having played since April of last year.

On Sonic Adventure DX, he was underrated due to F-Man’s efforts but once again, set many of the benchmarks for characters other than Sonic, not to mention the Twinkle Circuit races where I believe he held every single record for a long time.

And now for Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. The jewel in the crown, so to speak, at TSC, and Cybrax was king. This game alone is why Cybrax is the greatest here. Forget everything else – this is all that counts here. He came to The Sonic Center back in ’03 with a few truly great times (including one very special one – more on that later), but it was in April of 2004 when Cybrax put the pedal to the metal. He took #1 at that point, and then set off on two months of complete domination of the game, before being usurped by an equally determined SS101. He returned in August to dominate once more, and it was at this point that Cybrax attained his stature as the greatest. On the 3rd of August, he released a large queue of times that knocked a massive 80 points off his total, and left the game in absolute style. It was at this point that Rayku began to come into power, and in three months he would attain the title of champion, but Cybrax started it all.

On top of this, he started the push towards expanding into the older games, particularly in getting Sonic R and the GG games into the charts. Mind you, he wasn’t too bad at those either – putting most effort into Sonic 2 GG until FoxLuc, myself, and later Sprint took over.

For all this, there’s only one thing you should know~… Cybrax is unofficially TSC’s Greatest Player of All Time.

Best five records (as adjudged by myself):

5th: BINGO Highway (SH) – Sonic – 3’56”43 – Only picked because it’s so old (set in April ’04), and because I wanted to use records from a few games.
4th: Speed Highway (SADX) – Sonic – 1’10”95 – This time just keeps on getting better and better…
3rd: Metal Harbor 1 (SA2B) – 1’16”84 – I was one of many who watched that 1’21”40 video of this level and wondered how on earth it could possibly be beaten. And still, Cybrax makes it look easy.
2nd: City Escape 1 (SA2B) – 1’53”70 – Go on. Try and beat this time. I dare you. While probably quite lucky (as the roads have an evil tendency to screw you over at just the worst time), to take first place on the first level of any game is always the hardest.

AND… *drumroll*

1st: Green Hill (SA2B) – 0’26”47 – This record stands alone as the single greatest ever set. Why, you ask? Because it’s by far the oldest – it is the only record, among TSC’s 23 games and some thousands of divisions, to have stood since the dawn of TSC Time, and a little before if I recall. Even two years on, it has been approached but never matched. Not to mention, the video accompanying it is one of the best examples of time attacking you will ever see.
